Another Storm Follows Historic Blizzard: Is Your Weather App Keeping You Safe?
Following a historic blizzard, the bad news is that a new snowstorm could dump snow and ice in more than 20 states. Is your weather app keeping you safe with accurate, real-time forecasts? Check out these.
Next Big Snow and Ice Storm Targeting 20 States
Another major winter storm, stretching from the Midwest to the Northeast, could bring significant ice and heavy snow across more than 20 states, Fox Weather reported.
This complex winter storm is expected to begin impacting areas on Sunday and continue through Tuesday, affecting many regions still digging out from the blizzard and bomb cyclone.
In particular, the East Coast from Virginia to Maine could see the heaviest impacts, as well as the southern sections of Indiana and Ohio, forecasters from the Weather Channel reported.
The Big Dig out: Northeast Bomb Cyclone, Many Still without Power
Millions are digging out from the Northeast bomb cyclone, which has been dubbed "TheBlizzard of 2026," smashing snowfall records and leaving thousands without power.
At the height of the storm, blizzard warnings were issued for over 40 million people across eight states, Fox Weather reported.
Following the storm on Monday, more than 600,000 customers were without power. The outages led to more than 11,000 flights being canceled on Tuesday.
As cleanup continues in the Northeast, over 245,000 customers remain without electricity. The hardest hit state is Massachusetts, with 160,000 outages, and some coastal regions are not expected to have power restored until Friday.
When Severe Weather Hits, the Right App Makes the Difference
A historic blizzard followed immediately by another major snow and ice threat is a reminder that winter weather is rarely a one-and-done event. Storm tracks shift. Ice lines wobble north or south. Wind chills plunge faster than expected. The core forecasting systems aren’t broken, but how you access that information matters.
That’s where a modern weather interface becomes essential. Instead of searching multiple sources or refreshing outdated forecasts, you need an app that delivers real-time updates, clear visuals, and fast access to critical data. Two powerful options:
All Weather Mode: Weather Home
These apps are built specifically to keep you informed and prepared when conditions change quickly.
